Born in West Java, Aryo began taking photos at the tender age of ten and continued to develop his knowledge and passion for photography, whilst approaching what he was shooting with sensitivity and respect.

His imagery expresses a desire to observe and understand what appears to be invisible, visible.

Disliking the superficial and sensationalism of the photography industry, Aryo has devoted much of his working life looking for order and tranquility in the culture.

Aryo travelled constantly 2014-2021 throughout the islands of Indonesia with his 1973 Honda to capture the cultural landscape, both ancient and contemporary.
